Well to be honest, there's a lot of really important features to consider when you're shopping for vinyl windows but you should definitely be aware of the features that you DON'T need as well! There are a ton of scam artist window manufacturers out there who design replacement and new construction windows with features and little doo-dads that absolutely do nothing but line their pockets.
Don't be tricked into paying for features on these products that you'll never need! Locking screens?
The features you definitely want to have included in your vinyl replacement windows are:
- tilt-in cleaning ability (keep in mind that some windows referred to as "single hungs" do NOT tilt in from the top sash, only the bottom sash will tilt in to clean.
- dual locks. You definitely want your window locks to be evenly spaced apart on the sash rail because single locks on double hung's can be very drafty and even make it difficult to close.
